Grants will nominally be made up to a maximum value of £200, based on the perceived value of the activity for the individual, and compared to the value seen across all applications. Thus, the full amount applied for may not be granted. However, in certain circumstances, more money may be available. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply for more than £200, if they need it, in case this extra money is available.

• Applicants must be an SSPI UK member. Membership is free for students and can be obtained here.  
• Applicants must be an undergraduate student, or recent graduate (up to 3 years post-graduation) and be studying/have studied a STEM subject.
• The applicant should be aiming to pursue a career in the space sector.
• Applicants cannot have received this award before.

• The funding awarded will normally cover only part of the expenses incurred in completing the activity, meaning the applicant is expected to be funding the activity from an additional source, which may be personal funding.
• The successful applicants must notify SSPI UK upon competition of the activity, and write an article describing their experience for the SSPI UK website.
• After awards have been made, funds will only be released when SSPI UK has received copies of all receipts.

The Application Form (access here) must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline, along with receipts and/or screen captures of expected costs. A letter of support (max one side of A4) from the applicant's supervisor or a senior colleague must be submitted, commenting on the status, importance and relevance of the activity, and the merits of the applicant. The deadline for applications is 25 October.

Applicants should submit all documents to sspi_UK@sspi.org and will be informed on the outcome of their application within 4 weeks of the closing date.
