In 2020-21, Scotland launched its “Strategy for Space in Scotland”

3 years on, our panel will look at some of the on-going issues to promote Scotland as one of the leading space nations and achieve its lofty goals.

Our panellists will consider these from their own but very different perspectives – academia, infrastructure and content/applications, answering questions such as:

  • How has the landscape in Scotland changed?
  • How are emerging technologies creating new opportunities?
  • How can Scotland be competitive in a global market?
  • Has the government delivered on its commitments, for example investments in education, innovation, attracting foreign direct investment?

Chair of the panel:      Dr. Hina Khan, Executive Director, Space Scotland

Panellists

  • Prof. Iain Woodhouse - Personal Chair in Applied Earth Observation, School of Geosciences, Edinburgh University
  • Luis Gomes - CEO, AAC Clyde Space
  • Hazel Jeffrey - Head of Systems and Services Development, Craft Prospect
  • Dr Debra Carr - Innovation Partner in Scotland, Defence and Security Accelerator’s (DASA)

After the panel there will be time for networking, with refreshments, and an opportunity for a guided tour (in small groups) of the facility.

The event has a limited capacity and registrations will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
